What do you want students in your courses to learn? What is the learning outcome or objective?
I would like to share my real-world professional experience with people interested in a career in audio for interactive media like games.
Why did you start teaching?
I want to give back and teach others the things I wish I knew when starting out in my field.
What advice would you give to those considering the online Master of Music in Music Technology program?
Learn everything you can about every subject offered. Ask a lot of questions and do lots of research.
What qualities make someone particularly successful in the music industry?
Empathy, ability to 'zoom out' and teach complicated subjects to beginners, musical sensibility, and no fear of making mistakes
What do you think are the biggest challenges that people in the music industry face today?
Landing a job: Very few full-time positions are available, so you'll need to have a diverse skillset.
