    Foundation course

    Students may be required to take a 3 credit hour Foundations course based on a holistic review of the application and supporting documents with special consideration of undergraduate major, GPA and relevant work experience. Students will be notified of their course sequence at the time of admission.

    Transcripts

    Please submit official transcripts from the college/university in which a bachelor's, master's or doctoral degree from an accredited institution was obtained.

    • Applicants who have graduated from SUU do not need to submit a transcript
    • International transcripts must include a transcript evaluation from a third-party service such as SpanTran or WES showing that the degree is equivalent to a U.S. bachelor's degree

For the MBA – Finance Emphasis online, you must complete 24 credit hours of core courses, including a capstone strategy course, and 9 credit hours of emphasis courses. Students may be required to take a 3 credit hour business foundations course based on a holistic review of the application and supporting documents with special consideration of undergraduate major, GPA and relevant work experience. Students will be notified of their course sequence at the time of admission.

If you are required to take this course, it must be taken first and cannot be taken at the same time as another course.

This accelerated and condensed course covers the essential concepts of Business Statistics, Microsoft Excel, Financial and Managerial Accounting and Corporate Finance that are necessary for success in subsequent graduate level business administration courses.

This course examines the principles of organizational behavior involved in managing people and organizations in a business environment. Topics include leadership, motivation, effective teams, conflict and negotiations, power and influence, organizational culture, and change management. This course focuses on the practical application of these principles in a meaningful and ethical manner. **FIXED FIRST COURSE for all MBA STUDENTS unless you are required to take BA 6000. If BA 6000 is required, you will receive a course sequence from your academic advisor. This fixed-first does not apply to students in the MSN/MBA dual degree program or the MS in Cybersecurity with Information Assurance - Management program.**

For each major asset class, we learn common valuation approaches, as well as the theories used to estimate appropriate discount rates. This course provides students with an understanding of the financial tools used in creating, running, and valuing entrepreneurial enterprises. It includes an overview of the entrepreneurial process, including different organizational structures, financing sources, and the value of intellectual property protections. The course also covers the valuation techniques commonly used by professional investors, and examines how investors, particularly private equity sources, select projects for investment. Students will learn to use common financial ratios and cash flow projections to analyze the liquidity and profitability of the firm.
