What are the requirements for the online MBA – AI program?

Our streamlined admission process enables you to start quickly and easily. Please read the requirements for the MBA online, including what additional materials you need and where you should send them. Requirements include:

Admission Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution
  • 2.5 GPA
  • No GMAT required

Business Foundations Course

Students will be required to take a 3-credit Foundations course if their undergraduate degree was not an AACSB-accredited business program with a minimum 3.3 GPA or higher. Students with an AACSB-accredited business degree with a minimum 3.0 GPA or higher may also have this course waived if they also have a minimum 3 years professional management experience. Students will be notified of their course sequence at the time of admission.

While a GPA of 2.5 will be considered, students with a GPA of 3.29 and lower will be admitted provisionally – and this will slightly increase the minimum time to completion of the program.

Transcripts

Please submit official transcripts from the college/university in which a bachelor's, master's or doctoral degree from an accredited institution was obtained.

  • Transcript Assist - We can help you obtain your transcript at no cost! Simply give us permission by filling out the Transcript Assist form in your application. Once your application is submitted, we’ll request your transcript and notify you when it arrives. Please note that we only request the transcript for your highest earned degree. We can obtain transcripts from institutions that are part of the Parchment or National Student Clearinghouse networks, which includes most schools. Check their websites to see if your college is a member. If your institution is not affiliated, you’ll need to submit your transcript to SUU yourself.
  • Applicants who have graduated from SUU do not need to submit a transcript
  • International transcripts must include a transcript evaluation from a third-party service such as The Evaluation Company (TEC) or WES showing that the degree is equivalent to a U.S. bachelor's degree

Explore the industry-aligned online MBA – AI program coursework

For the MBA – Business AI Emphasis online, you must complete 24 credit hours of core courses, including a capstone strategy course, and nine credit hours of emphasis courses. Students may be required to take a three credit hour business foundations course based on a holistic review of the application and supporting documents with special consideration of undergraduate major, GPA and relevant work experience. Students will be notified of their course sequence at the time of admission.

If you are required to take this course, it must be taken first and cannot be taken at the same time as another course.

This accelerated and condensed course covers the essential concepts of Business Statistics, Microsoft Excel, Financial and Managerial Accounting and Corporate Finance that are necessary for success in subsequent graduate level business administration courses.

This course examines the principles of organizational behavior involved in managing people and organizations in a business environment. Topics include leadership, motivation, effective teams, conflict and negotiations, power and influence, organizational culture, and change management. This course focuses on the practical application of these principles in a meaningful and ethical manner. **FIXED FIRST COURSE for all MBA STUDENTS unless you are required to take BA 6000. If BA 6000 is required, you will receive a course sequence from your academic advisor. This fixed-first does not apply to students in Nursing programs, MSN/MBA dual degree program, or the MS in Cybersecurity with Information Assurance - Management program.**

This course explores ethical issues that arise with the development and implementation of artificial intelligence technologies. While many have pointed out the promise of AI to do good for humanity through developments in such areas as medical technology, business optimization, and climate solutions, there are also many ethical concerns regarding the development and implementation of AI technologies. These include privacy and security, bias and discrimination, threats to intellectual property, exploitation, ecological destruction, and more. In this course, we will discuss these topics and others to get a sense of the ethical implications of AI technologies in the modern world.
