Tell us something interesting about yourself that your students might not know about you.

I have had the privilege of working in healthcare, in various roles, since 2005. My background and passion is in rural and emergency medicine. I have worked in a variety of practice settings, from long-term care to EMS and flight nursing, during my career. I taught Clinical & Simulation Learning at Southwest Technical College during the inaugural year of their LPN Program. I maintain practice as an RN at Milford Memorial Hospital and continue to run as an Advanced EMT at Milford Valley Ambulance Service. My wife Joan is a family nurse practitioner who works primarily in ERs, with some clinic time, at Beaver Valley Hospital and Milford Memorial Hospital. Together we have a dachshund named Swiper that we consider our first son, a two-year-old boy named Owen and a daughter due in January 2020. We live in Milford and have an unofficial petting zoo with a miniature donkey named Penelope Jane, a cart-trained pony named Hank, and three goats: Max, Oreo and Daisy.
