In which online degree program do you teach?

  • What do you want students in your courses to learn? What is the learning outcome or objective?

I want my students to be able to take what they have learned and apply it to their everyday lives in real-world applications.

  • Why did you start teaching?

I started teaching in K-12 education as I really wanted to increase educational opportunities, possibilities and resources to underserviced and underrepresented populations.

  • What advice would you give to those considering these online programs?

Online learning opportunities are the same as traditional learning opportunities. Online coursework allows students to work, learn, grow and develop at a pace that lets them have increased opportunities for work-life balance.

  • What qualities make someone particularly successful in distance education courses?

Students in the online learning environment have to be dedicated and organized. Often in online learning you set the pace, so you have to hold yourself accountable for keeping up with your assignments and deliverables.

  • What is the one book you think everyone should read?

    Mathematical Mindsets by Jo Boaler
