Why did you start teaching?
Teaching is the best way to learn. Through teaching, I am able to satisfy my desire for lifelong learning while at the same time fulfill my love of interacting with others. Students inspire me, challenge me and make me better!
What advice would you give to those considering this program?
Online learning is a great way for busy students to continue learning!
To make the most of this opportunity, in addition to studying, set aside time to connect with peers and instructors online. Creating and maintaining a sense of belonging will open doors of understanding and networking that will serve you well.

Open-mindedness: A genuine thirst for knowledge and an appreciation of others' input will help ensure you are continually perfecting your leadership and networking skills.
Valuing others: Colleagues, students, peers—everyone we interact with has value, and we recognize it when we see them through new eyes and are open to growth.
What do you think is the biggest challenge that people in the profession face today?
Leaders wear many hats. Responsibilities often vary widely, and it seems everything is time-sensitive. Giving each responsibility the time and attention it deserves requires balance, organization and a willingness to develop leaders through proper delegation.

My doctoral research involves trauma-informed education, and I am passionate about providing safe environments where students of trauma excel academically, emotionally and behaviorally.
